29.01.09RECENT EVENTS IN THE VENDEE GLOBE
Four years of planning, hard work and investment, but much more importantly the very real chance of becoming the first British skipper to win the Vendée Globe were taken from Mike Golding in a matter of less a couple of minutes when he was dismasted on the 16th December only hours after taking the lead in an epic race which has gone on to account for the highest attrition rate since the 1996 edition.

The Ecover shore team had a busy weekend in Fremantle, making final preparations to ship ECOVER 3 back to Europe.
09.01.09GOLDING BACK IN THE UK
Mike Golding arrived back in the UK early this morning and headed straight for the London International Boat Show which opened today at Excel.
30.12.08FREMANTLE HOME OF THE OPEN 60
Mike and ECOVER 3 are now safely ensconced in Fremantle. Mike and the shore team are currently considering the timing and options to get ECOVER 3 back to the UK.
25.12.08CHRISTMAS DAY ARRIVAL IN AUSTRALIA
After almost 8 days and 900 miles of sailing under jury rig Mike Golding and ECOVER 3 arrived in Fremantle in the early hours of Christmas morning.
24.12.08JOURNEYS END
Mike and ECOVER 3 are due to arrive in Fremantle, Western Australia on Christmas Day, once stepping on Terre firma and after some sleep, a hot shower, steak and a beer it will be time to pick up the pieces and move on.
23.12.08LANDFALL ON CHRISTMAS DAY
All things being equal, wind in the right direction, fuel reserves lasting out and even finally a bit of good luck Mike Golding should make landfall in Fremantle, Western Australia on Christmas Day.
