02.12.08FAST PACE

Mike Golding and the leaders of the Vendée Globe are now well into roaring forties conditions though have yet to encounter the first really strong winds.

01.12.08HEADING FOR THE MOTORWAY PROPER

Over the weekend the leading group have managed to skirt around the edge of the St Helena high and break through the ridge left in its wake. This was like being on the back roads trying to weave your way across the countryside to the motorway.

01.12.08WEEK FOUR COMMENCES

Mike Golding lies in eighth place this morning after a good 24 hours as the fleet emerges from the St Helena high pressure.

30.11.08GOLDING ENJOYING DOWNWIND SAILING AGAIN

Sunshine, good breeze,a flatter boat and big gennakers. Mike is pleased to be downwind sailing again and leaving the St Helena High behind him.

30.11.08HEADING TOWARDS THE FIRST GATE

The Vendée Globe leaders are heading east towards the first gate of the course with Mike Golding in ninth place, 66 miles behind leader BT (Sebastien Josse).

After yesterday's re-shuffle at the front of the Vendee Globe fleet Mike Golding remains in a strong ninth place, just 36 miles behind BT (Seb Josse) who took the lead again yesterday.

28.11.08IN CONSTANT STANDBY MODE

Mike is feeling pretty happy with his current position, he is in touch and keen to stay in touch, this is an area where you could potentially come unstuck and get left behind. Right now they seem to be going along at roughly the same speed.

28.11.08BRAIN TEASER

It's tricky and it is going to get more difficult for Mike Golding and all of the the leading pack in the Vendee Globe as they deal with the light and increasingly variable winds near the middle of the St Helena high.

27.11.08THE DIVE SOUTH

The differences we are currently seeing in the leaders speeds and heading would continue throughout the day as they reach the anticyclone which is blocking their way south-east.
